Lenovo t500 vista ultimate upgrade then windows 7 eligibilty

hi guys

I was wondering if I could upgrade the lenovo t500 that comes with a windows vista basic to vista ultimate and then afterwords upgrade to windows 7 but first thing first lets focus now only on installing vista ultimate on it.

I do have now a dell inspiron 1520 and it was preinstalled with vista basic and I installed successfully a preactivated dell oem vista ultimate on it so as a dell oem XP sp3 :D and they needed no activation of any sort and worked like a charm

so the question here is can I do the same thing with the lenovo t500?, can I simply install a vista ultimate on it with no activation cr**k and what so ever?

if I needed some work around please mention it in a step by step basis
